In Love

For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him. Ephesians 1:4

There are two ways to interpret scripture.

There are two ways to live the Christian life.

One way is through the rule and curse of the law: your love for God and others.

The other way is through God’s love for you. In God’s love for you, you are holy and blameless before Him.

Your love for God and others is always going to point an accusing finger. And rightly so. We all fail at this. Our default mode is to read scripture through the lens of the rule and curse of the law. That’s where a lot of Christians live their lives.

Through social media I’m finding more and more Christians who live their lives through the lens of God’s love for them. They have been set free from the rule and curse of the good and holy Law.

If I can be of any encouragement to you, Dear Reader. You have an open permission to walk in the Spirit, and in your spirit, and not live your life under the curse of the law. You are holy and blameless, in God’s love, before God.

You have an open permission to use your gifts, abilities, vocation to help others…as you are willing & able to… without Moses accusing you of all that you have left undone.
